Prototyping Project Manager (m/f/d)

Your mission during this flight:

As a Prototyping Project Manager, you will coordinate and manage the design-to-build process for prototype aircrafts and components, working in close collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, the Volocopter Production and further involved functions. Your mission is to handover successfully produced and accepted prototypes to the customer in time, budget and highest quality. Safety and effectivity are a top priority along the design-to-build process for all Volocopter Prototypes. For this role, we are looking for someone with project management experience in a technical environment with the ability to successfully coordinate and communicate in a multi-disciplinary, dynamic environment while constantly pushing the target achievement.

• You are responsible for an holistic, integrated management of prototyping projects at different prototyping stages.
• You plan and coordinate the design-to-build process at the interface with all involved functions (incl. Design, Production, Procurement, Quality, Flight Test, etc.).
• You align with and manage involved functions including the definition of requirements, deliverables and responsibilities, managing dependencies and steering the overall target achievement.
• You identify, analyse and resolve potential project blockers and conflicts between different functions.
• You are responsible for management and tracking of the project budget incl. cost optimization.
• You support in the transition process from prototyping production to serial production.
• You support in the definition and management of team-internal and company wide prototyping procedures.
• You show leadership and encourage out-of-the-box thinking and innovative approaches.

Qualifications

Check in your professional skills:

• Completed Bachelor / Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration with a technical backround or similar.
• 2+ years’ experience in project management within a technical environment.
• Ability to communicate in a technical environment.
• Experience in working in a fast-changing project environment, e.g in the research and development phase.
• Ability to encounter changing environments with fast, effective and creative solutions.
• Showing initiative, taking clear ownership for projects and having a solution-oriented way of thinking.
• Fluent in German and English.

Preferred skills:

• 2+ years experience in a prototyping environment.
• Experience in the aviation industry.
• Involvement in setting up and standardizing new processes.
